What a crazy adventure the Lord has called me on!
Just a week ago I spent the night in the Atlanta Hotel and now I’m sitting a coffee shoppe with three other girls who have become my family. I’ve fallen completely in love with this country and its people (especially the niños).
Our ministry this month is called EcuaSol. EcuaSol is a before and after school program low-income families in Northern Quito. Every kid/teenager gets a hot meal, help with homework, and while we are here futbol with the with the grinos! Yes, I play soccer. No, I am not good at it. At all, but it’s fun! I’ve learned so much from these kiddos, but most importantly God has taught me a lot about how excessive my lifestyle has been. These kids are so insanely happy even though they may only have one hot meal a day, a single pair of shoes, and minimal luxuries we often take for granted in the United States. I’ve learned that I need to live in the moment and really think about what I’m doing, rather than my possessions. Stocking up materials and living excessively does me no good. I knew coming into this season of life I was going to stretched and broken, but I had no idea it would be this early on in the Race, but boy am I glad.
Jesus has shown me SO much in such a short time and I cannot wait to see what he shows me further into the race.
Thank y’all who have made being here possible thus far. I ask you to prayerfully consider supporting me so I can stay in the field learning, listening, and sharing Jesus.
Adios, Katie!!
