The race is over and I’m back home.  Two of the most frequently asked questions I’ve received:

1. How was it?

2. What’s next?

It was AMAZING and I am now happy to announce to you what is next!!!

I am moving back down to Bogotá, Colombia February 7th, 2015!! I plan on being there at least until next Christmas. I will be working with El Camino Academy (where I worked at before the race) part time, 3 days a week, as a mentor teacher helping struggling students one on one and possibly helping with the service outreach ministry, small groups, and discipleship. I’m excited to continue investing in the students I had already started to the year before the world race!

My 5th grade..now 7th graders!

The other days of the week I will be volunteering up at Fundación FormaVida.  There is a church up on the mountainside of Bogotá in a poor neighborhood.

On the race God gave me a HUGE heart for the teenagers of Latin America and how MANY are from broken families and are being greatly influenced by drugs, alcohol, and things of this world.  I had the privilege to visit the foundation in Bogotá for a week after the race. I got to know some of the teenage girls and a few of the boys in that neighborhood. (pictured on the left). Their family situations are so broken and my heart hurts for them. They are so awesome and I see so much potential in being warriors for the Kingdom in all of them. The foundation has an awesome kids Bible program but my plan is to focus on the teenagers in that area who some spend their free time using drugs and are part of gangs.  I hope to start relationships with them and influence them with the love of Christ.

I plan on doing this through sports ministry, Bible studies, small groups, hang out, etc.

The idea is to establish a relationship with them and mentor/disciple them through the gospel of Jesus Christ and leading them into learning to live it out.  Many of these teenagers fall into the realm of drugs and gangs because there is a lack of positive influence in their lives. My hope, prayer, and goal is to be that positive influence on them speaking Life into them, guiding them into Freedom in Christ, and showing them their worth and how much they are loved!   (Pictured above is the view of Bogotá from the Foundation FormaVida). There is also a possibility of helping out a World Race group who will be doing ministry in  Colombia and working with the same foundation some month this year. I would LOVE to help them out and encourage them because I get it. I get their lifestyle, I understand the hard parts and great parts about living in community and traveling, and I get the work they do for God’s Kingdom…but we’ll see….Lord willing that will work out!

With all that being said and only 3 weeks until I leave I am in support raising mode again! God has been so faithful throughout these past 2 years in my missionary experiences and I know and trust He will keep providing!

God is doing amazing things in Colombia and I know and believe even greater things are yet to come for that nation! If you are excited and encouraged by what the Lord is doing please prayerfully consider partnering with me financially.  I will be going under Resourcing Christian Education International (RCE International), a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that is tax deductible.

You may give one time, monthly, quarterly, or annually. The easiest way to do this is by filling in the information that is found at the following link: Donate to Allie Mitchell

If you would rather give by check and not by card electronically, email me or send me a personal message on Facebook and I’ll let you know how you can do that.

Thank you so much for your support and encouragement through my year traveling throughout Latin America helping the least of these!! I am overwhelmed with the amazing people God has placed in my life all around me and am so excited to where He is leading me next!  If you have any more questions please contact me at [email protected]
