Shakira's song about Africa has been our squad's theme song for the last 24 hours. In it, she sings, "It's time for Africa." Originally written for the World Cup that was held in South Africa back in 2010, I feel like it applies to us just as much! We're going to Africa today!!

We just landed in Dubai, after an 8 hour flight from Vietnam. We have a few hours before we board our next plane that brings us into Uganda.

These last 6 months in Asia have been difficult, amazing, challenging, and wonderful. I can't even begin to explain how much God has grown me and stretched me. I have grown to love community and fallen more in love with my Savior and King. I have learned more about trusting Him in these last 6 months than I ever knew was possible. It's strange that we've finally left the continent of Asia. I'm so excited for what Africa has in store for us. Our route has changed already. We are heading first to Uganda, then Kenya, and finally Tanzania.

It's the beginning of month 7 and I'm wanting to capture every moment and stretch it and share it to see if I can make it last just a little bit longer. Yes, the Race has been tough and I've had times when I really missed the comforts and safety of home, but when I look at what the Lord has been doing and showing me, I wouldn't trade thse last 6 months for anything. No job, no school or education, no selfish ambition could ever compare to these last 6 months.

It's always difficult to leave a country after building relationships, and Vietnam was no different. It was really hard to leave friends that I made and places that I was starting to call home. I have so many incredible stories to share about how God is working in Vietnam.

So, another chapter is finished, and a fresh, new page is opened. Africa, I'm ready to write your story on my heart.
