According to legend, the ancient Olympic Games were founded by Heracles, son of Zeus. Yet the first Olympic Games for which we still have written records were held in 776 B.C., though it is generally believed that the games had been going on for many years already.
The ancient Olympic Games grew and continued to be played every four years for nearly 1200 years. In 393 A.C., the Roman Emperor Theodosius I, a Christian, abolished the games because of their pagan influences. Since then the Olympics has been revived and is now held every four years, in a different country every time.
The world Race is similar to the Olympics in many ways. Take for instance, the first modern Olympics was held in Athens. Our Olympics will be held in Zimbabwe, Batswana, South Africa, Swaziland, India, Philippines, China, Ukraine, Moldova, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama. Though the “Games” might not be held in just one place, like the ancient Olympians our goal is almost the same. Our Goal is to please our God. If you’re not completely familiar with him allow me to introduce him to you Steve Harvey style.

'The Bright and the Morning Star' Some say He's the Rose of Sharon,
and some say He's 'The Prince of Peace'
