Does anyone know your story? You know, the type of things that describe who you are, what you've been through, your upbringing.

On this race I have encountered many people that all have one thing in common; they all have a story. Whether they are poor or rich, short or tall, old or young they have a story that is different and unique to their lives. What has become a burden of mine is realizing that a lot of these stories are untold. I'm not talking about the untold story of what you did last weekend whether good or bad. I'm talking about the untold story of the hurt and pain that lingers on the inside because of past and present suffering. There isn't one person alive, or dead that hasn't experienced this. Neither is there anyone to come that will not experience this.

This blog titled untold stories was motivated by troubled teens I had the opportunity to work with here in Honduras for 2 days. Through an organization called heart of Christ, I worked with teenage girls that had babies by rape or incest.

Imagine sitting in front of 12 – 16 year old girls who were raped by their father or some 50 year old man, beaten, tied to beds, involved in sex trafficking, drugs, etc. Its sad to see a 12 year old breast feed, but it is real life for her! It's beautiful to see her laugh, play, smile, and for me to walk away remembering those moments, but i soon forget that she is a mother due to a past experience and she was born into this. Sickening to think of right!!!   I'm sure you know a young lady between this age or may even have family this age. Could  you imaging this being their life?

What I delight in the most is that there was someone out there, namely the owner of this organization that cared enough to hear their stories, take them in, fight for justice, and most importantly point them to Christ. Reality here in honduras is that 1 out of 3 girls are rape victims and most of those stories go untold. The victims die, abortions happen, they are sold into sex trafficking, no justice is served, the men go free, life goes on, and the sex business prospers as though nothing is wrong. On top of this girls are being decapitated with machetes and babies are being murdered because of angry boyfriends or parents. This is sad!!!:(

I just want to encourage us, the body of Christ to not be a people who doesn't care to hear another's story, meet the needs of others,  and point them to Christ. Has there been a time in your life where someone simply asked "how are you" and that simple question yielded the peace that someone cares, and better yet that God sent someone just specifically for you. Moments like that are ones that i believe God uses to remind us that he hasn't forgotten nor will he ever forget. Let us be a people ready to create those moments for others because we have submitted to the royal law. LOVE
