Tomorrow is my 25th birthday! While I have been in a third world country on my birthday before, this is still the most extenuating circumstances I’ve ever been in.
At 5am I am boarding a bus to go into another village that was hit hard by the earthquake to deliver tents for shelter and fellowship with the people. If I’m being perfectly honest, waking up at 4:30 in the morning for an hour bus ride followed by an hour uphill hike while carrying extra weight was probably at the top of my list of things I’d never want to do to celebrate my life. But then I remembered that this life is a beautiful gift from God. What better way to celebrate it than to serve Him and share His good news to people who desperately need it?
This beautiful journey that He has me on provides me with opportunities like this daily. While at times it has been so hard, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I have grown exponentially in the past 4 and a half months and have no intention to go back to who I once was. Would you help me to continue on in this journey?
