So I left off my last blog with things in Boge. This one will focus on Peja and what we did there.
We were given the contact information for a Christian couple who owned a bakery in Peja. We emailed them and come to find out they had just closed it. They were willing to take us in and it turned out to a beautiful thing that God orchestrated. While there they fed us like it was Thanksgiving week and we needed to be fatten up. Some of the best home cooking I have ever had. Who knew!!
They have a few jalapeno farms. So one day they called up one of their farmers. He needed some help pulling weeds. That was an easy way for us to help and bless him. That day we drove out and started pulling weeds. By the time it was lunch time. We still had about 1/2 the field to do. We talked as a team and decided it was best use of our time to come back out in the afternoon and help him finish. This man’s testimony was amazing. The things he has been through is remarkable. Read a bit about him on my teammate Jenna’s blog.
Our team also was able to get some teeth cleaning and work done (I unfortunately had to get 4 cavities filled and will get a root canal next month in Bulgaria. Not the greatest but at least it’s cheap and will be taken care of. Just a part of life.)

We know how to have a good time!
We found out that we were an important part of this families restoration and healing process. They blessed us more than we could ever expect. And they are forever part of our lives. It was a great way to see how ministry can be lived out. They have been here in Peja for 10 years. They haven’t planted a church or won many souls to Christ yet. But when they asked a prominent man in the community what they could do, they were told don’t leave. This family has become a part of the community and are just waiting for Lord to do his work and are being Obedient. Please keep them in your prayers as they have a few family matters that they are dealing with.
Through this time here we were given a contact in Prishtina who needed a lot of help. She graciously accepted us not only into their home but their cafe as well. Read all about it in my next blog.
I have some exciting news!! This month has been ATL (Ask The Lord) for my team and I. As this was for our ministry this month I decided why not apply this to my life and career options for after the race? Well, the Lord answered a lot of my questions. I am excited to say that I have been accepted to an alternative teaching certification program! This is an online program. I have some training and a few tests to study for before anything really gets started. In order to have access to this I have to make a small enrollment fee. Once I am hired to teach my first year (Aug 2018) the remaining comes out of my pay. I normally wouldn’t ask for help with something like this. However, as I am currently unemployed I don’t have the $350 it takes to get started. Starting this program will not affect my time on the field. I would get some of the study prep and a few of the training modules done on my off days when internet is available.
I know this is a concept not a lot of people are familiar with, but just hear my heart. When we ask we are inviting people into something. We are extending a hand and saying “will you join me in this? I want you to be a part of it and the blessings that come.” It’s a partnership. God does this with us all the time. He could easily handle things without us, but he loves us so much he wants our fingerprints on his handiwork too. Not only that, we get to enjoy some of the reward! Our Papa smiles when we take an offer that seems so small and blesses our “yes.”
Will you partner with me in helping me fulfill Gods calling on my life to be in the classroom and help shape the future leaders of the world?
