Our lives are made up of moments.  Moments that are strung together, piece by piece telling stories of who we are but most importantly giving a glimpse into who God is.  This past month while living in the jungles of Peru, I was able to live some of those moments. Moments that revealed who God is and I was privileged to be a small part in those many moments.

We went into a village.  Before we had arrived I had asked the girls to do listening prayer that morning and to ask God what He wanted to do while we were there.  The girls and gotten pictures and inclinations to whom God was directing us to, but little did we know that God had something off radar in store for us.

We walked into a little shack.  There two precious old people lay on a matt of wood.  They were in their 80’s and lived in this village that flooded often for most of their lives.  Unable to walk and really take care of themselves.  They were left to live lonely lives with only the assistance of their daughter in law on occasion.  We chatted.  We hugged.  We cried.  We sang songs to Jesus.  It was one of those moments that if He wouldn’t of placed me in the middle of it, I could not think it possible.

When we were about to leave they asked for us to come another day and said that they had been waiting for a visit.  They had been praying to Jesus that someone would just come and be with them. A simple act of obedience and taking the time to love is sometimes just what God is asking us to do.

After we prayed for this sweet couple we asked to pray for their daughter in law.  Her prayer was to have wisdom for her special needs son.  That God would help her to take care of her family and especially Tony.  As she described Him, I realized I had met him at school earlier that day.

Tony a curious boy that the other children wouldn’t associate.  He had a few more bugs flying around him but he was happy and loving life.  That same boy was connected to this sweet old couple and their hard working daughter in law, the moments keep getting smaller but my mind grows expanded to how big God is and how he can connects things.

We pray for her.  Streams of tears run down her face. Overwhelmed with life. Then God makes these moments even more precious.  We talk to her about Jesus and she asks God to come and be lord over her life.

It’s moments like these that melt my heart.  It’s events like these that remind me of who God is.  A father who puts a bunch of gringo’s in the jungle at this village at this moment so that HE can move through our lives and in the hearts of this precious family.

God ceases to amaze me and I am privileged to be in these moments.

What moments does He want to move in and through you in?  Who does He want to move and touch through your life?

YOU ARE LOVED.

P.S. Just got back from Peru, believing that God is going to provide all the funds for the Peru trip.  God has also asked me to take a step and lead a passport trip for three months to Thailand at the end of August.  PRAY! SHARE! & GIVE! I can not do what God has placed on my heart without YOU!
