Its crazy to think that 3 months of my 9 month journey are already completed. God has really opened my eyes the last few months to things I have never seen before. As we enter into a new season in Thailand it is my prayer that I give everything I have and explore all what God has for me. There are so many things God has taught me the past three months, but two of the main ones were loving unconditionally and learning to trust God more.
We as Christians all know that we are called to love people regardless of how they treat us. God really gave me new insight to what that looks like in my life the past three months especially loving fellow Christians. I know what the Bible says about loving people, but so often I love out of a selfish sense wanting something in return. I have read 1 Corinthians 13 numerous times the past few months and it is always such a great reminder of how Christ has truly called us to love.
When our team of 7 found out we would be living by ourselves again in Thailand it was not what I wanted to hear. I am the type of person who would prefer to be with larger groups of people. I struggled with this idea of our team being alone again, but I kept telling myself that it was for the best. One night I was talking with Jayden and I came to the realization that God has out these six people in my lives for at least three months. I get the opportunity to minister to my own teammates and love them unconditionally. It all comes back to the verse that says, Others are going to know us by the way we love each other. I can go out each day too ministry and love on all kinds of people, but if at the end of the day I can’t love and minister to my teammates that love not real. I don’t want to get too the end of the 9 months and not truly loved the people who were right in front of me the whole time.
We arrived at our ministry site yesterday in Chaiyaphum, Thailand, it is about 5 hours north of Bangkok. We are staying at a YWAM base with a Thai family. We are not quite sure what our ministry will all include but some of it will be teaching soccer and english. I know this won’t be a easy 3 months but I know God has some great things planned for me if I jump all in. I ask for your prayers as our team adjusts to life in Thailand and all that comes with that.
Thailand is such a amazing place, we got to spend a few days in Bangkok doing touristy stuff and I am pumped to get to experience this culture for 3 months. I absolutely love the food and I don’t need to worry about starving.
I can’t say thank you enough for all your prayers, taking the time to read my blogs, and just in general caring. If you want one thing in particular to pray for me about its that my main focus can be on serving God. I have found out that it can be really easy to get caught up in all the exciting things that come with traveling the world. My prayer is that I keep pushing into what all the Lord has for me. I love you all so much! God Bless all of you.
