As I sit on my back deck thinking about what to write my next blog post on, a couple things come to mind: Worship lyrics (probably due to currently listening to worship music), How my heart is just full by all the support I have received in the past 24 hours, or just how in “awe” I am at our heavenly Father’s Goodness. To think about it the three kind of go together.
Last week I was really worried that I would not be able to meet my first deadline of $5,000 on the 17th. I kept stressing about how to raise more money as quickly as possible or just how to get the word out there. With that I wrote a blog post, and no, writing that post did not take all the weight off my shoulders. But after writing it I realized I was leaning too much on my own understanding. In the Bible, Proverbs 3:5 it says “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.” So I gave it all to God: the fundraising, my worries, my stress, my fears. I went to God with them instead of going to those around me. I stopped leaning on what I knew and leaned on what my God knows(which is everything). Since then, I am just in “Awe”. In awe at the amount of support that has come in through that past week, the encouragement I have received, and just how those around me are so willing to help me in this en-devour. From sharing a Facebook post to donating money. It all means the world to me and just overwhelms me with love. So Thank You – to the ones that read my blog posts, to the ones that share mine and my mom’s Facebook post that are always coming up, to the ones that have been in prayer for me, to the ones that bought bracelets or took home jars. No one thing means more to me, it all just is more encouragement that this is where God wants me and with that He will provide.
Now on to worship music, I personally connect so well with praise songs. When going through a hard time or going through something amazing praise music always has a place in my heart. To kind of go along with my last post’s theme that intertwines with this post, a song comes to mind. ” Nothing is Holding me back” by Bryan and Katie Torwalt. The lyrics that really stick out are:
