There are several components to my new position at Adventures, but the one that I was most anxious about was teaching young adults in the CGA community. Those who know me would think this would be easiest, as I’ve spent the last decade or so in the classroom. But there seems to be a lot more pressure when teaching adults. Pressure I have clearly placed on myself. I kept wondering if what I had to say would be received by my peers, if it would be interesting, or keep them engaged.
When I finally got over myself as to whether or not I could effectively teach adults and listened to the Father, I heard God whisper… “I can.” Once I was able to fully allow the Holy Spirit to move the true teaching began.
Yes, I read over the material multiple times and prepare a lesson plan, come up with guided questions and an occasional activity. But with the Holy Spirit’s leading it’s been incredible to see the fruit that has already taken place in the few short weeks I’ve been “teaching.”
In conversation many apprentices have shared the ways the course is growing them, challenging them, and awakening their hearts to transformation and healing. I feel really honored and blessed to be in a position to be used in this manner.
So, here I am. In Gainesville, Georgia and I’m saying YES! YES to teaching, YES to leading, and YES to learning everything the Lord has for me in this season.
Thank you to those who have faithfully partnered with me through prayer and financial giving! I am still looking for monthly supporters as well as one time gifts. There are several ways to give…
