We are in India! I’ll never get tired of the fact that I get to travel the world for Jesus!

This month we are working with Covenant Children’s Development Centers, we go into different villages each afternoon to pray for those living there and teach school for about two hours.

The first evening was a little rocky since we didn’t really know what they wanted us to do or teach. But we successfully told the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego and taught them how to play Duck, Duck, Goose!

On Friday as we were walked around the village I was feeling the monotony of it, praying basically the same fifteen second prayer for each person we came to. I was having a hard time putting my heart behind it each time we started praying. As we walked up to the next house they brought out the family and we began praying for them. After we finished they told us they had a new baby, maybe a few weeks old, that they had yet to name and they wanted us to name her!

I’m sorry!

Hold the phone!

What?!

You want totally random strangers to name your child?!

Yes! That is exactly what they wanted!

The only thing they asked was for a strong name. My team looked around at each other and three of us said “Esther”?

And that was it!

I got to name my first baby today! Team Gladiators officially has our very own baby in India! Forever this child will be called Esther because of us!

SO COOL!!!

We prayed over Esther after we named her. We prayed that she would grow up knowing about Jesus and the sacrifice He paid for her sins. We prayed that she would come to know The Lord personally and walk with Him daily. We prayed she would grow into the name we gave her. That she would be bold and courageous. That she would stand up against those who wrong her people and fight for those she loves. We called her princess and beautiful!

We each hugged and kissed her and then gave her back to mom and went on our way. I was rejuvenated after we left and felt like The Lord gave us all what we needed in that moment.
