Welcome to my world race blog, friends!
This is the place where you will find updates about my journey from now until the end of my trip. I will be embarking on a nine-month trip to Guatemala, Thailand, Malaysia, and Swaziland, along side my team. I must admit I am a little terrified, but mostly excited and expectant. Along with traveling comes a lot of little details that matter so incredibly much, like remembering your passport… or remember to bring your plane tickets… I am slightly forgetful and messy, but Jesus will pull it all together.
The Lord is allowing me to go on this trip not for my own benefit, but instead to further His kingdom and bring Him glory. When I applied, uncertainty and doubt flooded my thoughts, but Jesus gently whispered peace into my mind and reminded me that my trust resides in Him alone. After praying relentlessly and going through the application process, Friday arrived and sure enough I received that call. I was in a bus station during the call, so I wasn’t able to gather all that was said, but I most definitely heard “Congratulations, Zoe! You’ve been accepted to go on the World Race.” I tried playing it cool since I was in public, but that didn’t last long. My heart was overjoyed, because I knew that the Lord was calling me to this next adventure.
One thing the Father has been teaching me is to praise Him consistently. I will praise Him when I am in doubt or when I am feeling completely secure, I will praise Him when I am mourning or when I am joyful. In this next chapter of my life there will be many trials and tough goodbyes, but there will also be new beginnings and fresh perspectives.
My prayer is this: Father, give us the strength to worship you in the midst of every circumstance. Let our tongues praise you with every word we speak and allow our hearts to be upright and pure in your sight.
