I’m in South Africa working with a ministry called Impact Africa. My team and the other team we are living with are working closely with the outreach ministry. We are going into places called squatter camps to evangelize. A squatter camp is basically a village of shacks with people from all over Africa. They come to Johannesburg hopeful to find a job. Some people work piece jobs but most people are unemployed. Most of the houses are made up with odds and end materials. In the past 3 days of ministry working in a village called Mswawa, we have had over 50 salvation’s. God is moving rapidly right now and it’s so incredible to watch. The people are so eager to hear and know about Jesus Christ. Something God has been teaching me is having complete dependence on Him. It’s so easy to see such a great example of this in the people of Mswawa. Seeing the explainable peace, love, hope, joy, and dreams that they have is just amazing. Even when it seems like they have nothing. I got to meet a man who had been robbed at gun point. The amazing thing was that he praised God for all that had happened. One of the men who robbed him wanted to shoot him in the leg even though he had already handed over all the money he had. The man with the gun disagreed since he had handed over everything. He praised God for protecting him in his time of need. Another story I will share is one where I had the opportunity to pray over a man so he could find a job and fix his financial problems. After I prayed the translator led him to Christ. Instantly after they were done talking he got a phone call about a job offer. He came to us and told us that God had found him a job.
This is a look into my team’s past week and I hope it will continue to be this way for the next two months. Prayers are always needed and graciously accepted. Thanks again for everything! Talk to you again soon!
