I’m in Haiti now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am just going to go day by day over my first week.
Day 1
I had an amazing first day. Not only am I excited for this next month but I got several small gifts from God today. Like I met a girl from Jayton Texas (her name is Sprinkels) which is a school that I played aganist in high school. We had mutual friends like Brittany and Whiteny Bever and Mary and Melanie Robinson. We talked for a while till I had to go for ministry. When I was waiting for our bus I was sitting on a little island in the the parking lot. While I was sitting there I looked over and saw a strange looking rock. When I grabbed it I realized that I was holding a hackey sack. Just in case you didn’t know I love hackey sack. All of this happened before we even left for ministry. We went to a village and as we arrived we had a large group of kids meet us at the door of the bus. In this village, when we get off the bus little kids come up to you and you are theirs for the time being. The little boy that came up to me was named Leekinson. Not far into the walk he asked me to pick him up so I did. Shortly after I realized that he was a very calm kid that was content with just being held. I was starting to fall in love with the kid. When our guide took us to his house, the kid that Zach was holding wanted to trade people. I didn’t get this kid’s name but he was the polar opposite from Leekinson. He was nonstop the whole time I held him.
When we got the the end our walk we pulled out some toys and began to play with the kids. I pulled out the hackey sack I found that morning. Some of the kids were pretty good. I showed them a couple of tricks and they freaked out over one of them. I taught a couple of them how to stall it on their necks.
One thing I have been doing is looking for God in my everyday life. I will tell you how I saw him in that day.
Today I saw God in all of his little gifts.

Day 2
Today we spent the whole day in a village called Williamson. We packed PB&J for lunch. The objective for this trip is what they call S.V.T.. It stands for Strategic Village Time. This is where we go into the village to figure out information about where the villagers get their water from, how they clean it, and how long it has been since they have seen a doctor. The main purpose is to spread the gospel. We went to a couple of houses and watched the Interns to see how they did it. When we got to the third house there was a man there that knew God but didn’t want a relationship with him. Which is normal for local because of the cultural necessities to go to church. But after talking to him a while I got the sense that he didn’t feel worthy enough to have a relationship with God. I shared with him a part of my life where I struggled with a very similar thing. As we continued to talk with him he told us that he used to lead worship for the church but they couldn’t pay him so he quit and began performing at parties and bars. I told him the story from John 4 about the women getting water out of the well and Jesus sitting there and asking her for a drink of water. The woman was confused and Jesus tells her later in the conversation that “Anyone who drinks this water will soon be thirsty again. But those who drink of the water I’ll give you will never be thirsty again.” I went on to explain what that meant. If you fill your cup with worldly things, you will have to refill it in short time. However, if you let Jesus fill your cup, it will fill up so much that it will overflow for ever. When we left him we asked him if he would like to commit his life yet or not and he said no but he was clearly thinking about stuff. We didn’t see the end result but a seed was planted.
I saw God today When the Holy Spirit was leading my mind and tongue to help me spread his love.
Day 3
Today we did S.V.T. at a village that I can’t pronounce the name of. When we got there we split into two groups. My group had two translators so we broke up into two small groups of five or so. We went to several different houses but felt like we were having the same conversations. People knew Jesus but didn’t want a relationship with him. The morning was coming to an end and we had time to go to one more house before we had to leave for lunch. We came up to a lady that was carrying bananas. A couple of the girls helped her carry them and she told us that her daughter was sick and she took us to her house. When we saw her daughter she was in a wheelchair because she was paralyzed from the waist down. The mother said that she also had severe diarrhea and medicine wasn’t working. We prayed healing over her three times. Kelly prayed frist, then I did, and Hunter did last. When I was praying over her I could feel the Holy Spirit moving. When I was done praying I asked her if she felt anything when we prayed for her and she said that she could feel her blood moving in them. After lunch we came back to the same village and went to more houses. At this point we only had four people in my group. We came up to a group of ladies that were laughing, joking, and just having a good time. When we tried to talk to them only one of them would talk. She told us that she had a relationship with Jesus. I asked her if she could tell us the story of how she committed her life to him. She said that she was with some friends that practicing VooDoo and she felt an evil spirit enter her. She said that she didn’t like the feeling so she went to church and committed her life to God. She asked us if we could pray for her to get the money to go to school.
I saw and felt God in the moment that I was praying for the paralyzed girl. I could feel it in my chest and it was harder to breath in the moment.
Day 4 & 5
These are my adventure and rest days so I’m putting them together. Not much happened these days but we went to a coffee shop and spent the day there with free wifi which was nice. We also did a tour of the campus and learned how Mission of Hope for Haiti started.
I see God these days in seeing the plan for this country.
