First of all— I AM FULLY FUNDED. WHAT!
(I’m so excited. SO THANKFUL. SO glad. I get to stay and continue living here! YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING. My brain is shooting off confetti cannons!)

I have seen a lot these past 5 months. I’ve seen poverty and sickness and pain. I’ve seen kids without food and without water. I’ve seen families cooking on a small fire, in a small hut, under a mud roof, fighting to survive. I’ve spent days with women living in prostitution.
But I’ve also seen slot of good things. I’ve seen Joy when rain comes falling In a village that rain hasn’t been in years. I’ve prayed for people who were once strangers that quickly became friends. I’ve taught students about the hope and future they have and the life that Christ gives them. I’ve seen slum kids find joy in soccer games. I’ve seen vulnerable women and girls hearing about Jesus.

About a month ago, I was writing a sermon to share in the villages, and I was reminded of the people back home.

Part of my sermon went a little like this,
“Through the darkest season of my life, I had people by my side holding my hand.”
During a hard season of my life, I had people there for me, people who really cared and still do. I had meals of my house for weeks and people loving me and encouraging me from a far. And I’m really starting to realize how good of a community I still do have.

Lots of you reading this have been those people who walked me through those seasons.
Some of you are my Younglife leaders, best friends, family friends, my friends parents, and honestly– strangers.

I’ve been encouraged and loved by so many people on this crazy journey I am on. And I am so grateful. Grateful for the moments at home, and the words and donations that have brought me here.

So wherever you are in this moment, whether it’s your office desk drinking coffee or your on your laptop watching Netflix, thank you. Maybe you’re sitting in a lab you hate or laying in your dorm trying to avoid studying for something I probably can’t pronounce, thank you.

Thank you for loving me at home and on the race.
Thank you for being on my team.
Thank you for rooting for me from a far.
Thank you for your donations and supporting me.
Thank you for allowing me to have the best adventure of my life.
THANK YOU.
