I am a major fan of Star Trek. Whenever a Klingon goes into battle they say “Today is a good day to die” meaning they will sacrificially give themselves up for the honor and glory of the Klingon empire.
I have been thinking about this saying for a little over a week now and why it seems to carry so much weight.
I have always seen the $18,100 I need to raise not as something I need to do but something God will do through me to prune me down and replace ME with HIM. As I continued to ponder this statement tho I have come to realize that none of my letters have come out void. Over the last week people have given me a lot of money some in cash some in donations and I have come to realize that every time someone gives to me I die and the part that dies is being replaced by praise and a more full reliance on God.
So I am dieing a little bit more to God everyday. So I do not lie when I echo the Klingon saying of “Today is a good day to die” because I want all of my true self to come out in this life and I will not get there by holding true to this world. I will get there by laying my life down for the honor and glory of the Lord who gives me breath and life
May the Lord teach you and grow you,
Zack
