Its interesting this year is because I am strikingly more humble and I know in saying that is a contradiction. For one I did not make a big deal about my birthday which was a week ago if you didn’t know and I am not excited as much for tomorrow for presents.

I am super excited about the Glory of the Lord in our presence and how we celebrate that tonight on this the eve of Christmas. I am super stoked for that and most of all that is all that matters. The best thing of all though is that as I look forward to the next Christmas in Malawi. I look forward celebrating it with my team whomever that is on my squad. I look forward to the foundations of love joy and peace I am experiencing with my family now but in a different context. I look forward to the opportunities that will be presented to me over the next year in a half to spread the love I have and know with others.

Sure I will miss my family but my thought is I will be with my family because whomever believes in Jesus is my family, we have a saying in our massive group chat whenever someone new joins a few of us say “welcome to the family, tell us a bit about yourself.” I love this saying because it is incredibly true and it is so because we are and will be for the next year in a half at least and we are life long friends and will know each other like family.

So I am being humbled in this way that Christmas is about the Glory of God coming to earth in the form of Jesus Christ and I will take joy in the Lord.

May you take joy in this Christmas season
