“After this the Lord appointed seventy-two[a] others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. 2 He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. 3 Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves. 4 Do not take a purse or bag or sandals; and do not greet anyone on the road.
5 “When you enter a house, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’ 6 If someone who promotes peace is there, your peace will rest on them; if not, it will return to you.7 Stay there, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do not move around from house to house.
8 “When you enter a town and are welcomed, eat what is offered to you. 9 Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’10 But when you enter a town and are not welcomed, go into its streets and say,11 ‘Even the dust of your town we wipe from our feet as a warning to you. Yet be sure of this: The kingdom of God has come near.’ 12 I tell you, it will be more bearable on that day for Sodom than for that town.” Luke 10:1-12
God is in the Business of sending people. He does it in such a way that we are reliant upon him. This is what I will be doing on The World Race, I will be so dependent on God that he will provide everything for me out of my trust in His name. This doesn’t start when I leave however, in order for me to go I have to be reliant on Him now.
Right now this looks like fundraising and prep for this next year after I graduate from College. I would love to invite you into what I am doing as part of this journey. This can look different for all of you. For some it looks like connecting just by subscribing and sharing my Blog which I encourage all of you to do. For others it looks like you giving one time and helping me achieve the goal of Fundraising. For a few of you it looks like a lasting partnership and giving to me monthly and helping me that way. I would be blessed by any one of these things and I would absolutely love to connect with you and send you a more in depth letter on what God is doing and what he will be doing with me and my squad and team in the next two years.
I am preparing myself by getting physically ready for this time via getting the gear I need and getting into physical shape where I can hike 3 miles in 50 minutes with a fully loaded pack next June at training camp.
I cannot stress my dependence on God and you enough during this time of preparation for this adventure. I have to be dependent on God and giving up all control and satisfaction in all else to do this. This is an important phase in my life. I love all of you dearly and praise God for you.
If you have any questions please hit the contact button and send me an email. I will be answering a number of basic questions in my next Blog.
