So you found my About Me section… Great!!! Let me tell you guys (and gals) a bit about my life and who I am.
Hi, my name is Zack Coward.
There done…
In all seriousness though, I am currently in school studying about Ministry and Missions specifically. I am 21 years old. I go to Sweetwater Baptist Church in Douglasville, Georgia.
Now that those first introductions are out of the way, let me actually tell you about myself.
I felt called to Ministry when I was 16 years old at a youth camp in the North Georgia Mountains. It was also there that I became a Believer in Jesus Christ (It’s a long story but let me give you some cliff notes: I grew up in the church, I was “saved” at a young age but truly wasn’t, I felt God working on me and my life in the camp, I accepted Christ into my life after much spiritual debate/battle what have you, and felt called to do something in Ministry but didn’t know what as of yet.
After I turned 18, I spent the summer in Hume, California at Hume Lake Christian Camp as a maintenance person. At 19, I interned for a few months at Cross Bar X Youth Ranch in Durango, Colorado. At 20, I went with the IMB to N.A.M.E. (North Africa and the Middle East) for a semester.
Interests and Hobbies:
- Discovering new cultures and views
- Driving down a winding country road with all the windows down in the summer
- Playing with the kids at my church
- Learning about N.A.M.E.
- People watching
- Finding something that I can make my own
- Cooking
Favorite Bible Passage (well the one that has been on my heart for the past few years)
Luke 14:26-28
If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
It is my “favorite” Bible Passage because it made me put into perspective what I valued in this life if I truly felt called to be a Missionary for Christ. What am I willing to give up in order to serve the Lord?
