Over my time here on Earth, I have always felt that I have had an eye for creativity and sharing. My mom always seemed to take pride in the vast imagination I had and the stories I would come up with. I just wanted to share that creativity with the world!
As I am quickly approaching time to embark on this journey across the world I have the ability to share my story and use my talents to create for the Lord. Through my urge to use my talents, I decided to sign up for a storytelling workshop that was being hosted by Adventures In Missions for people just like me that feel called to create.
I showed up not knowing what to expect other than I was showing up a day early with just a fraction of Racers with aspirations to tell stories. As I pulled up to the AIM headquarters, I was greeted by some former Racers that are now working for AIM. At the front of the lodge I was met by one Racer in particular that I actually already knew very well. Caleb Pauls is a vlogger that went on World Race and filmed all his travels and shared stories of how God was working in his life and the lives surrounding him. I quickly became fascinated with his videos and subscribed to his youtube channel. I used his videos as a way to get more familiar with what World Race was like and what to expect. That night I got to hear him along with the others, speak and share some about their stories. They helped me personally learn so many tips that I can’t wait to apply when I launch out for the Race. They also just gave us motivation to try and fail, that way we will learn how to succeed in our niche.
Going forward into the next morning, they challenged us to create. I wasn’t planning on creating this blog, but I just wanted to share my thoughts on what has definitely taken me out of my comfort zone. With being a vlogger myself and having my own youtube channel, I am used to typically just creating a video by myself. With the challenge, they wanted us to get in a small group and create a project together on why we wanted to come on the World Race. Out of nowhere I had two girls that wanted to partner up with me to make a video. At first I was a bit nervous cause this meant I would have to open up and be vulnerable about some of my story with people I didn’t really know. Although we may have had a bigger vision than we had the time for, I still enjoyed the learning experience and trying something that I wasn’t necessarily comfortable with. I learned to be more aware of not biting off more than we can chew and that I need to be better about getting to the point when I speak and not letting myself go on rambling.
So with that said, I will be ending the blog here. I hope you all enjoyed hearing about this experience, and I can’t wait to see how God is going to continue working the talents He’s given me for His glory. Thank you all and remember that I love you and God loves you!
