At World Race Training Camp, we had to do a men’s hike prior to our fitness hike or as CJ referred to it, our “fitness run”. So the men’s hike was all about trust, leadership, and teamwork. I had to trust and rely on Austin Roberts and CJ Shiner to guide me up the mountain blindfolded. Lucky for me we could switch out with someone so I didn’t have to do it  the whole way and miss all the amazing views! Two members of the team had to pretend to be injured and we took turns carrying them up the mountain. At one point I had to carry Ben Taylor who is 6’5” and like 200 pounds to my 5,7” 140 soaking wet. I honestly wasn’t planning on carrying him and really didn’t want to, but he gave me the motivation to do it and really push myself.

I definitely learned a lot on the hike and grew with my teammates. Unfortunately Austin won’t be there to motivate me on the Race, but he’s always my brother. And as we learned about trust, I trust that God has better plans for him and I trust that Austin will follow them wherever that might lead. I just really thought this was a good picture that tells a story, so much love to you Austin and to the rest of my brothers!
