So how did I find myself in the process of going on World Race Gap Year? Well in order to understand, let’s back up a bit and take a look at what lead to this beginning. So as a senior in high school, I had no clue what I wanted to do in life. Everybody just kept pressing college and I felt that it would be a waste of time because for one I didn’t know what I wanted and two because I didn’t even take high school that serious. So I already had my mind made up that college wasn‘t for me. At least not at the moment. All I knew is that I was senior with a big since of adventure and a passion for nature. So after high school I just decided I would start working and save up money until I figured out a plan for my future. I never could find myself happy at any job, so I usually didn’t stick with any particular one for that long. I just felt like something was missing and there had to be more to my life and I was wasting it away. Little did I know that God was going to intervene in my life and get me back on track and following His will. For the longest I was just concerned with what I was going to do with my life and never stopping to think that it was God that granted me life and I needed to discover what He has in store for my life. So over the course of last year, I did a lot of searching and trying to just hear from God. I had a lot of ups and a lot of downs, but thankfully God was there for me through it all and never quit pursuing me and growing me. I had to learn a lot over this past year and I know I will never quit learning, but God taught me a lot about who I was and more importantly who He was and how He was living in me and through me. I began to hear God calling me to use my passion for travel and making my YouTube videos to help inspire and encourage others by leading them to Christ and showing them the love of Christ. God began to reveal more and more to me the more that I was faithful and eager to learn. He has slowly revealed more of what He has in store for me and one being the World Race Gap Year Mission Trip. So like I said before, I have always had a passion for traveling and experiencing new things and being pushed out of my comfort zone and I know God created me that way for a reason and for certain purposes. So over time I began talking with my youth minister about traveling and sharing the word of God along my travels. One thing he said to me definitely made an impact. He told me that sometimes God just wants us to step out on faith and see if it’s the direction He is leading us in. So later on down the road with a lot more contemplation and prayer about where God was going to use me, I came across World Race on my Facebook page. I immediately was interested and started researching and looking more in to it. It just seemed so perfectly in line with what the Lord had been placing on my heart. So I began to pray about it and share the page with family and friends and ask them to be praying that God would make It clear in my heart if He was calling me to be a part of this. So I left it alone for a bit and just kept seeing it show up all over my facebook and Instagram and I just knew that God had given me a calling and I needed to respond. So I applied and had an interview and eagerly waited to hear back on if I was accepted or not. After a lot of prayer from family, friends, and myself, I received a call that I had been accepted. I was ecstatic about the news and still can’t believe how God has brought it all together and is continuing to work in my life. He is constantly blessing me even when I might not realize it and is looking out for me every step of the way. Now I will begin the fundraising process and I can’t wait to experience how God will bless me through that. I’m just so thankful to have a relationship with God and that He wants to use me and all His children for greater purposes than we can even comprehend.
