I love kids/youth camp so much! The past 4 years or so I’ve helped my church with kids/youth camp and I always come out of it exhausted but enjoy every second of it! Well this year I’ll still be on the race during both of those events in month 9 and 10 which is not the greatest of news. There’s something about watching kids dance around praising Jesus that makes me excited. There’s something about being able to be a kid again with those kids that also makes me excited. So long story short, I was pretty upset about missing this year.
God not only answered my prayer of having a happy heart while seeing the pictures in the future. He showed off, he completely showed off in more ways then one. God gave me and my team a month that I’ll never forget. We got an opportunity to work at an orphanage with 30 plus girls and one of the weeks we ran a camp with however many kids wanted to come. The staff spreads the word to surrounding villages about the camp, and the best part is that it’s free. That’s right, the kids have to pay nothing to be there, just show up and be ready to have fun! Running camp made me miss home a lot but at the same time made my heart so happy. It’s exactly what I needed for my heart and mind to be better.
Not only do I pray and hope to come back but I pray and hope that these kids continue to chase after God. They’re so inspirational and so dedicated to Christ it’s almost unreal, it’s almost unbelievable but still very possible.
