Last Friday me and the guys all went to Phenom Penh to visit the killing fields as everyone read in my last post. After exploring around our hostel we talked to a local about maybe finding a cigar somewhere around town. He gave us directions of where to go to find the best in town and we all got excited. So we start walking around, talking and laughing all while in the process of hunting for some good cigars. Several hours pass and no luck, some give up and others are just on the ride for an adventure at this point. Needless to say we never did find any cigars but we can say we all did have a good time trying to find them!

Saturday hits and 3 of us decided to test our luck again! Maybe about 2 hours pass and we finally found the cigar shop! We walk in and sarcastically ask “hey do you have cigars?” and with a serious face the man replies “no, I’m all out but I’m getting more next week.” Talk about a low blow! We get information out of him of another place and at this point it’s “yea why not!” So we start walking and see a sign that says The Cigar Room and we all get excited! After hours and hours of looking for these things we found them AND we got food at the same time!!

We start smoking cigars and us 3 guys just start talking and asking each other questions. Questions that lead to some really good and deep conversations. Some were funny and some were pretty serious. Either way we gave the other guys the same questions once we got back. It was a group of guys all smoking cigars and just hanging around a table talking and I thought “why dont guys do this more often, why don’t guys just sit around and talk into depth about the bible?” Which lead to another series of questions like why don’t more men serve? Why is the girl to guy ratio so much higher in the mission fields? Or even in church?

These hours of talking to this group of guys made me want to challenge all the men at home, there’s no reason out there as to why we don’t/can’t serve! We get so excited to play softball or flag football with the church but that’s not the only thing we should be excited about. We should be excited to serve the church, the community, and everything else around you! Maybe you’re not called to missions but there’s still plenty of ways for you to serve within the kingdom! It’s time to get up and take charge men!!

Here’s a list of some of the other questions we talked about for everyone else to think about.
1) If you could sit down and talk to Jesus about one thing and one thing only what would it be?
2) How would Jesus walk in 2018 if he was here?
3) If Heaven had visiting hours once a week would you go?
4) What’s the biggest scar you have on your heart that could help other people in there walk with Jesus?
