Most of our ministry days are planned out by our host and we go to our designated ministry days at whatever time, and some people love that. And then you have some days where there is no plan and you have no idea what to do, those are the days I love. I love not having a schedule and just kind of going with the flow. I thrive off of those days! Tuesday morning me and my team did a worship session mixed in with what we call an “ATL,” Ask The Lord. In the middle of that the word “alcohol” popped in my head which here in Nhkata Bay isn’t too weird because a lot of people here have a drinking problem. Me and my teammate, Lindsey Kappler, decided to go into town and do a prayer walk where we literally just walk through the town praying for what our hearts are lead to do.
We stopped by a historical cemetery where a lot of people get drunk(that was God) and some die and so we prayed over that. Right before leaving we met a guy named Radson. He seemed to be super genuine and excited to talk to us. One thing lead to another and we ended up in his house reading the bible with him allowing him to ask us any questions. Come to find out this guy and his family struggles with alcohol a pretty good bit(that was God). We prayed over him and his family after about an hour conversation and then went about our way. We continued to head from bar to bar praying over those places where people go broke and lose things due to alcohol.
Our last pit stop was with Grace, an owner of a restaurant, who helped us out so much on our first day here. When we asked how she was that day she began to tell us that she wasn’t doing to good for various reasons. One of those reasons was her trying to stay strong with her addiction of alcohol(that was God). Everything that happened that day was for one reason and one reason only. God gave me a single word in which I didn’t understand at first but now I can say “That Was God.”
