Over the past year I been trying to figure out what I want to do with my life, so far I got nothing. The one thing I knew for sure is that I would be attending a university in the next year and working towards my bachelors. Of course in what seems to be the stereotypical fashion of God, he took the wheel and showed me that in fact I wouldn’t be doing that, instead I will spreading the Gospel to the nations. Through much prayer, trust and support I applied for The World Race Gap Year. In the past week and a half my future has taken a drastic turn from what I thought I would be doing next year. Not only will I be taking a gap year from school this year but I will spend my time in Thailand, Malaysia, Costa Rica, and Ecuador sharing the Gospel with the least of these.

Right now it doesn’t even seem real, although I’m very excited, I’m also nervous, doubtful, scared, hopeful, inspired, joyful and about a million other feelings that I am still processing. I still have a semester left of school which I know will fly by but because of that it feels very distant. In July I will attend a training camp in which I will meet the team I’ll be traveling with in person and then a few short weeks later we will depart in September to begin, personally, the biggest adventure in my life to date. While there are a lot of things for me to do before I am ready for September, there are also a few things I would ask of you to do and partner with me as I begin this journey.

  • Pray. Pray for my team and I as we all prepare to start this journey. Pray for the relationships that will begin to form and for all of us to have open hearts and minds and allow God to work in our lives as we come closer to September, as well as during our time in the field.

  • Give. While this is an amazing opportunity I will need a lot of financial support in the following months. I need to raise $15,800 in order to cover food, shelter, cost of living, transportation, and insurance.

  • Spread the word! I would love if you would share what God is doing in my life, share this post, and share the bold journey I am beginning to embark on.

If you made it this far then congratulations because I know this wasn’t award winning writing by any means and I commend you for sticking it through until the end. I truly believe God will do amazing things over the course of this journey along with your love, support, and prayers.

Blessed to be a Blessing,

Zach
