So here I am. 7 days into The World Race.
A week spent in the beautiful city of San Vicente, El Salvador.
Away from home.
Away from luxury.
Away from safety and security.
And I am in love.
So very much in love.
Just one week and I am already wanting to give it all.
Seems so much longer.
I’m ready to be done with the old self and in with the new self.
In Jesus name. Amen.
And yes, I said “wanting”. But I’m not there yet.
No, I havn’t even scratched the surface.
But in case you were wondering what the surface looked like, here it is.
This is my wonderful team. Who I thank God for everyday.
From the left (look for the gringos!) is Bethany Stanbrough-our team leader-, Me, Evan Bates, Taylor Wedgeworth, Tatum Pomeroy, Bethany Bernard, and Katie Ballard. (Follow their blogs!)
They are my support, my friends, and my family and I could not have asked for a better team. I love them so much already. I can’t wait to see how that love grows over the year.
The man in the middle with the blue shirt is Oscar. The pastor of the church we are living at/partnered with. He is a great man with unending positive qualities and we are blessed to have him over us.
In the week we have been in San Vicente, El Salvador we have already learned two skits to perform and evangelize to the people of the city.
No Tocar el Pecado (Don’t Touch the Sin) Skit. Me trying (and failing) to help the girls get out of their sin!
We have visited the impoverished town of San Antonio to spread the gospel, pray for, and help the hopeless people who live by such small means.
And I was even awarded the priviledge of giving a sermon to about 45 people in the church I am staying at.
What a blessing.
So even in this short time, the Lord has been so good.
I have already seen physical pains be healed, hearts come to Christ, and hope for the hopeless.
I have seen children’s faces light up at the sight of 7 gringos walking down their dirt road to visit their 64 square foot house and play with them for 10 minutes.
Me and Lisandro
Los Ninos de la parque de San Vicente.
Enhelito taking a bath.
So much to be thankful for and all so fast.
I am blessed. I am blessed. I am blessed.
I still can’t believe it’s only the first week of 11 months.
I am where I need to be.
May this never end.
Amen.
