“So why don't I feel close to God right now?
Why don't I feel His presence as strong as I used to.
Why does it feel like He has left me alone.”
“Don't worry, child. It's only because He is putting you through a dry season.
So that you can work towards him.”
Sounds great on paper, right?
WELL, I DON'T BUY IT!
I am sorry, but I call bullcrap.
(I'm not really sorry.)
I have heard that so many times from christian peers and leaders.
“You're just going through a dry season so you can grow.”
Really?
God spoke to me about this, recently.
This is what He said:
“Do you really think I would ever willingly withhold myself from you?
I have never desired to leave your presence.
I have never desired to separate myself from you for any time or any reason.
You are my beloved and yet you deserve not even a second of my presence.
Every moment I spend with you is a gift and I give it graciously.
Do you really think it is your works that bring you closer to me?
Do you really think I want to abandon you so that you can work towards me?
I will never leave or forsake you.
For any reason.
You don't deserve me.
But that's the beauty.
I want to give you everything.
All the time.”
Isn't that amazing!
God is so good.
See, all you ever have to do is accept God's love and His presence and He will be there.
Sin is the only thing separating us from God.
God is not the sinner so if you feel separation you must look at what sin is separating you from Him.
God always wants to be in your presence.
He always wants you to feel Him.
We are talking about a God who is always knocking at your door.
Just waiting to be let in.
He says all you have to do is open your door.
And He will be there.
How simple.
You have a Father who is constantly pursuing you.
Our God deeply desires your love.
He doesn't need it.
He wants it.
That is what makes it so powerful.
Your Father created the entire universe and every living thing.
He needs nothing.
And yet, He desperately desires a personal relationship.
With His bride.
With His creation.
With His beloved.
With you.
Accept him.
If you have been feeling dry, lately.
If you have felt that God has abandoned you.
If you have felt unsatisfied with your faith and your relationship with Daddy.
Then I challenge you.
Stop blaming God for it.
The Enemy is lying to you.
Our Father is literally waiting with bated breath for you to give yourself up to Him.
Pray and ask Him what you need to change in your life so that you can grow closer to Him.
Ask Him what you are blind to that is separating you.
He will tell you.
Because as much as you are tired of it.
He is more tired of it.
He has been waiting so long for you to ask.
For Him.
He has never left you.
He has never abandoned you.
He has never forsaken you.
He will always be there.
By your side.
With you.
Do not allow your sin to cloud your vision of Him.
Seek Him continually.
Because what in this entire world is more important than Him?
Nothing is worthy.
But He is always worth it.
And He has promised that if you drink from His living water than you will never again be thirsty.
Dry Season is over.
Go drink some water.
