Mongolia, here we come! So we’ve been staying in Ulaanbaatar, UB for short, which is the capital city of Mongolia. We felt the Lord calling us to three specific things. First, that we would be going south. Second, that we would be going west afterwards. And third, that we would stay in UB and that God would provide the connections for us. So we had really no choice but to be obedient and step out in faith knowing that God would provide the means for us to go to all of these places.

The very first day that we were there we met with a woman, in the hostel we were staying at, that knew a lot of natives and even had family there in the area of the Gobi Desert which is in the south of Mongolia. She was even able to set it up for us to go and live in yurts with the native nomadic people there. In fact, I’m on my way there now! We will be staying with a family that lives there and they have all sorts of animals and we will be helping them do some farming, goat shearing, and birthing! Ha! I know it sounds weird but it’s the season for the camels to give birth so I’m stoked to get to help with that! I guess you could say that what excites me has changed since I’ve been on the race but I love these incredible experiences!

Let’s come back to the three callings for a moment! We’re still in UB and a few days have passed at this point and just haven’t had much of any interaction with anyone that knew anything about the west of Mongolia. We really felt like we would be with the people group that are eagle hunters. So we went out one day to check out different tour groups but nothing really panned out. But what did happen while we were searching was someone just happened to approach us and wanted us to come teach English at their university! Wild right!? Totally unexpected but this was an amazing opportunity to both practice English and also tell about our trip and what we’re doing. So we went and had some great conversations and during one we found out this one persons family is actually part of the eagle hunters in the west of Mongolia! So we might get to even stay with that family. Like wow folks if that ain’t God twice in a row I don’t know what is!

It’s things like this that I’m learning to just trust in where God is leading me and our team as a whole. God gave us direction and gave us the connections that he promised because we remained faithful and obedient to following what He told us to do!

Was it comfortable? Not exactly. We were about to go into a city and a country that we know nothing about! But guess what? I trust my Father that he would not steer us wrong. His promises are yes and amen!

Psalm 117:2 “Great is his steadfast love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord!”

His Word is always true, always faithful, and is forever. From beginning to end and the end to the beginning He never changes. So why should I be afraid of Him not showing up? He’s a good Father and I know He loves me so there’s not a doubt in my mind that He will come through on His promises. And beyond that it’s not even about being comfortable, it’s about being obedient. I can attest to the fact that uncomfortable obedience produces an even greater awe and love for the Father. The complete awe of seeing how immeasurable He is and when He reveals His true love for you it will change your heart forever. We will never understand the full measure of His love but we can ask for more every single day. So do it! Talk to Holy Spirit, be obedient, get uncomfortable, and ask for the eyes of His heart!

I will be in the Gobi desert for the next week so definitely won’t have any internet connection or anything of the sort so I’ll post again when I come back to modern society! While I’m gone please be praying for the people that we will be living with and that their eyes would be opened to the truth that is Jesus Christ. That we would be able to show them Christ through our love for them and each other. And that through His written Word it would be etched on their hearts that Jesus is real and that He wants a relationship with them. That Holy Spirit would so grip them that their lives would be forever changed.

In addition, please pray for my support raising! I am only $3,600 away from being fully funded! Wow, that’s a huge blessing and it’s only because of you that I have been able to get to this point so quickly! Our deadline for being fully funded is the end of this month, April 30th. So I am praying that together we can be fully funded in this mission that you have been so supportive of in reaching the unreached and loving those that may have never felt the love that we do in Christ. I love you all and am so thankful for your diligent prayers while I am on the field!
