I was born with a few, very real diseases, such as wanderlust, the travel bug, border itch, nomadism, vagabondism, and divagation to name a few. The last year and a half, I hadn’t stayed in one place for more than two weeks. I lived out of a backpack, I slept on ships, and buses, and trains, and couches, I had to introduce myself to new friends everyday, I shared kitchens and eating utensils with 30 other messy backpackers, I rarely had privacy, I had no home mailing address, I didn’t have use for a phone, I had no routine, and not much was familiar. I loved it. This lifestyle was the only way to remedy my diseases. The more I lived out of what I could carry on my back, the less I needed. The more I introduced myself to new friends, the better I knew myself. The less I needed my phone, the more independence I gained. The less privacy I had, the more I forced myself to meet new people and learn their stories. The less routine I had, the more I lived everyday to the fullest! And the more I travelled, the more I learned about people, culture, myself, and my faith!

So now as the World Race is upon me and I launch within the week, I am very confident to say I’m ready! Bring it on! What have we been waiting for?! This is how I was created and I am so privileged to use this passion for His Kingdom. It has been an incredible blessing to be home and comfortable for the last two months! However it is in our uncomfortable and stretching trials that we further grow and learn about ourselves and our Lord. It is when we take that first step of faith and really trust in God to provide for our needs everyday that we understand His unwavering faithfulness and give Him control.

Please pray for me and the 250 other racers who are abandoning their comfortable lifestyle this week to really seek and understand Gods faithfulness by fully depending on Him. Over the course of the next 11 months these 250 young adults will be serving in over 25 different countries partnering with local missionaries and spreading the love of Christ to each of these communities! I’m excited to be a part of this ministry and after months of preparation, ready to start the adventure!!

Thanks for your support!
