Lets see…..what can I tell you about myself. Hmmmm…..
Well as you can see I’m not very outspoken. I don’t like the spotlight and I don’t overly enjoy talking about myself, so writing about myself is even more awkward for me. I’m very good at keeping my thoughts and feelings to myself, which I wouldn’t say is necessarily a good thing. Although, the bible does say in James 1:19 that we should be quick to listen and slow to speak, and I do consider myself a good listener
. There we go, that’s a positive thing! No, but seriously I have been asking God to allow me to open up to people and be more outspoken. I’ve even asked Him to make me so uncomfortable that I have no choice but to speak up, and let me tell you He didn’t hesitate to answer that.
I recently spent 2 ½ weeks in Costa Rica for various mission work, which I will tell you more about in a later blog, and like I said God did not hesitate to put my prayer to the test. I asked God to make me more bold, to speak up about His name when I knew I should, to not be so shy and bite my tongue whenever I became scared……This was a tough prayer for me to pray, but God heard it and He did not waste anytime pushing me forward. The very next day my sister Emily, who has been in Costa Rica for the previous 6 months for a discipleship program came up to me and said, “The pastor of the church we are going to Sunday asked me out of the blue if you wanted to give the sermon Sunday.” In my head I said no way am I going to do that. Then I remembered that this was my prayer to God, for me to be bold and tell people about how great this God is I have recently come to know. He had almost immediately provided me with an opportunity to see if I truly meant what I asked for. So I said, “Yeah, I’ll do it.” Now I wasn’t scared anymore, I was terrified! But I tell you what, it’s an awesome feeling to know that the creator of heaven and earth, the all powerful God of the entire universe heard my prayer and loves me so much that He would answer it just like that. GOD IS SO GOOD!!! Sorry He gets me super excited when I think about what He has done for me because this is not the first time He has heard my prayers in the short time that I have known Him. For all of you reading this that feel like God hasn’t answered your prayers, give Him time, He doesn’t work on the same time frame as we do. He hears you! I will tell you about more of these answered prayers and about how that church service went for me that Sunday in a later blog. So you have to continue to follow me if you want to know more. ![]()
I went off on a little bit of a tangent there, sorry about that. Here is some more information about myself that may be of some interest to you if you want to know more about who I am and what I like to do. First off, my name is Zachary Aaron Morgan. I have lived in Michigan my whole life. I was born in Kalamazoo, lived in Ann Arbor for 5 years and have lived in the beautiful Traverse City since I was 9. I graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science, but have yet to utilize that degree for employment. I’m very active and I enjoy pretty much any outdoor activity including snowboarding, long boarding, disc golf, basketball, baseball, football, and many other fun activities. Since I lived in Ann Arbor for part of my life I am a big Michigan Wolverine fan and have noticed that when I bleed it comes out maize and blue. I was born on May 1st of 1987, but the day my whole life changed and I fell in love with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was February 11th of 2013. Prior to my re-birth I lived a very selfish and self-oriented life where I was a slave to sin. Now that I have been saved by my true Father in heaven, my priorities, thought process, how I perceive other people and my entire outlook on life has changed significantly. Now I am a slave to righteousness and I thank God everyday for opening my eyes to see what this life on earth is truly about. I have a big heart for the people of this world who do not know this awesome God that I have come to know in this short time and feel that it is my responsibility to share His Love with them. This is a big reason why I chose the world race. The Bible tells us to go and make disciples of all nations and while there are plenty of people in the United States that need to be witnessed to, I feel that God is calling me to go else where to expand the kingdom. I am putting my complete trust and faith in God for this trip and am very excited to see how He is going to push me to grow spiritually. I look forward to building new and hopefully long lasting relationships with other people who have the same goals and beliefs as myself, but most importantly I am doing this because I love the Lord and want to spread the good news to others all over the world. Thank you for checking out my profile and there will be many more posts that you can follow if you feel inclined to do so.
