 Dear Friends and Family,

In preparation, and while I am out doing kingdom work in another country, I and my team will need a team of prayer warriors at home. There are more than 50 people going to India, Ecuador, and Malaysia; we’re also known as the J Squad and are comprised of people from all over the US. Everyone in the team ranges from 18-22 years of age, which means many of us need prayers concerning our future callings, college, wisdom, and discernment about what God wants us to do when we come back.

Please pray for us while we are out serving God from the first week of October, 2016 through June, 2017. The types of ministry work we will be doing differs based on the ministries who will be hosting us. Our squad will be split into teams of 6-7 people, and oftentimes, we will lack awareness of the manner of work we will be asked to do until we arrive at the given destination God has for us. God  sits in the driver seat, so please pray that God would direct our teams to wherever He plans us to be and to do. While out on the World Race, J Squad will be loving on and serving  children in orphanages, building churches, ministering to women and children who have been in prostitution due to human trafficking, and most significantly, sharing the love and hope of Jesus Christ by sharing the Gospel message.

Personally, I chose to become a missionary in obedience to God’s calling. I have known of God’s existence for the majority of my life, but I only truly committed to living my life for Christ two years ago. I have never gone on a mission trip, so God has asked me to take a big leap in pursuit of Him. Therefore, I ask that you would pray for my relationship with God to continue to grow exponentially. Also, I tend to be someone with quite a bit of pride, so please pray that I may continue to be humbled and for there to be more of Jesus and less of me. This journey I am going on, and in the journey that we all go on, features God as the main character; sometimes I forget that. I ask that you would keep me in prayer for these things so that God may receive all the glory, and so that I may truly be the light and salt in this world as a display of the Father’s agape(unconditional) love.

The last prayer request I have regards fundraising. I have three fundraising “goals” which must be met in order for me to go on this mission trip. As of right now, I have met my first fundraising goal (July 18) raised $4,367 out of the $13,805 I am in need of.! My first fundraising goal is $5,000 by July 22, so I am almost there. Additionally, my second fundraising goal is a total of $10,000 by September 16. The last goal is the full sum of $13,805 by January, 2017. Please pray that I may be bold in sharing this journey and asking for support; asking people for any type of support puts me way out of my comfort zone. I have seen God provide for me in big ways as the big answer to my prayers. I ask that you would pray for my success in meeting every deadline and for success that clearly comes from God alone. I am so grateful for seeing God in this initial fundraising process, and I am thankful for all the supportive friends, family, teachers, and role models I have had the chance to reconnect with so far.

Yours in Christ,
