I did some research on this voltage converter thing, and confirmed what I was thinking about them.
“1. Determine if your appliance actually requires a transformer/converter for use abroad. Look for the voltage rating on your appliance, if the rating states something similar to 100V~240V that means your product is dual voltage, in this case you can use your product in a 220V without a transformer/converter. Most laptops and camcorder battery chargers are dual voltage. However, you may need a plug adapter to plug it in to the outlets abroad. Now, if the voltage rating states 110V or 120V it means that your product is only single volt and it will require a step down converter/transformer for use in 220V countries abroad.”
here’s the link to the entire guide. http://reviews.ebay.com/Worldwide-Voltage-Converter-Transformer-Guide_W0QQugidZ10000000001093529
I found this on a ‘guide’ on ebay, which basically says that if your appliance/device says “Input: 100V-240V” on it, you don’t need to bring a converter for it because it will convert the voltage on it’s own. You also will need to make sure that it says ’50-60Hz’ after that.
According to the electronic stuff that you guys told me you were bringing; laptops, ipods, cameras, all those things should be 100V-240V. My electric shaver even says 100V-240V. So just double check stuff.
This is just one less thing that you don’t need to buy or pack, ya know?
