Serena received this e-mail yesterday and we ask that you all join with us in prayer for Tana (a Team B January World Racer) and her brother.
“My name is Charlie Long. I am a friend of Tana Turner’s. Tana asked that I send you a message to let you know that she and her brother, Brandon, were involved in a serious auto accident last night (8/7/06) around 8:00 PM. Tana and Brandon were en route back to Charlotte NC from Dallas TX where they had attended the wedding of a relative. The accident occurred just south of the South Carolina border on I-85 North. It appears that a vehicle crossed the median and hit their car head-on.
Tana is in Athens (GA) Regional Medical hospital and her brother was air-lifted to a Greenville SC hospital. Tana has a broken arm, collarbone, and ribs as well as a punctured lung and facial lacerations. She had surgery on her face and will require at least one more surgery to correct the lacerations on her forehead. She is able to communicate frequently and is very coherent. Obviously, she is very sore.
Brandon is unconscious and the next 72 hours are critical to his prognosis.
Their mom and dad flew in this morning from Dallas TX. Her mom (Kathie) is
with Tana and the dad (Dean) is with Brandon.
Thank you for your prayers on the Turner family’s behalf.
In Him,
Charlie Long
