Here’s a cool story for you about what God did yesterday and how He used me even though I was a bit slow:
I was leaving work and then learned that they were distributing tips, so I lingered. While waiting I heard this girl from Colombia talk to the guy at the register about how she’s new to town and lonely. I listened, but didn’t really think about talking to her b/c I was thinking about my tips and getting off work.
My boss took awhile and I ended up talking to her and hearing a bit of her story. Then, not thinking she would contact me and honestly not really wanting to hang out, I gave her my e-mail address and phone number. Before she left, I remembered that we were making jewelry at Bible Study that night and invited her to come.
She came to Bible Study and stayed till midnight! We had fun and got to hear more about her. She brought up religion later after most of the girls left and how she had studied many of the religions and felt like she just wanted to lead a good life. I got to share about things the Lord had done in my life and how I know I’m not good, but He is! After trying to explain how I believe Christianity is the only religion not based on works (without using churchy words), she had a one word response: Freedom. Isn’t that cool? The Lord definitely desires her heart and I can’t wait to see what He does. She turned out to be a precious woman and I can’t wait to hang out with her later! I’m thankful that the Lord allowed me to be a part, even with my reluctance.
Please pray for Alejandra! :o)
