Today, I found myself in a 2.5 hour prayer and worship jam
session. This is going to be a huge part of my time this month, and I look
forward to it. 3 times a week we will do something similar, and later this
month there is a 30 hour prayer session. It is my hope to go through it all.
But I write you tonight not to tell you of upcoming events or what this month
will look like. I actually write this blog specifically for my youth group back
home.
Today, this is my prayer for you. And as you read it, think
about it. If you are in agreement with it, then say amen out loud to God, and
commit yourself to the things God is about to do in your life as you surrender
all these things to Him. If you are not ready for it, read it anyways, know
that this is my prayer for you, and tell God to work some other way. You are
all loved.
Father,
I come to you again and again,
laying before you my youth. I ask that in this moment, right now as I pray that
they are feeling your presence. That in this moment you are wrapping your arms
around them and drawing them closer to your heart. As I think about the
upcoming mission trips that they are about to step into, I pray that you are
equipping each one of them with whatever tools it is that they need, and you
desire for them. I don’t care what you have to do in order to bring them onto
the path that you desire for them. Be it prying them finger by finger from
computers, ipods, televisions, or whatever other strongholds they are bound; be
it breaking ankles, dislocating shoulders, not making it in sports; tearing
apart relationships both romantic and friends to bring them closer to more
dependence on you; whatever distraction, whatever stronghold, whatever may be
holding them from you God I pray that you take it and destroy it.
In its place I pray that you
would fill the wound with your love, the void with your presence, the hurt with
your touch, the boredom with your calling.
To any spirit of lust, I cast
you out in the name of Jesus and we claim freedom from them in Christ.
To any spirit of jealousy or
pride, be gone, broken by the love of Christ. We walk in humbleness, in the
meekness of Christ.
To the spirit of insecurity, I
rebuke the lies of the enemy. We are the bride of Christ. Co-heirs in the gift
of Christ. We are chosen, we are free, we are His and to the world along with
whatever it says to us or about us we deafen our ears and hear only our Fathers
voice.
God, I pray for your
spirit to rain. I pray in Jesus name that you bring prophecy, healing, life,
vision, and truth into these lives. I pray that you are teaching them daily,
guiding them daily, feeding them daily. Give them boldness and force them
before the giant as you see them fit.
Grow them, love them,
hold them, and never let go. If they try to run trip them, if they try to hide
in darkness, turn on the lights and reveal the secrets of the dark be you and
before their peers. Don’t allow them to stray, don’t allow them to go a day
without seeing, tasting, and feeling your presence deep within their hearts.
God, as you see fit do
all these things, make it obvious, make it real. We love you, we trust you, we
say that YOU are Lord, and therefore, we say that we belong to you.
Thank you Lord.
Amen and Amen…
As you agree say amen. What you are really saying is that
you surrender all these areas of your life to God. You are agreeing to let Him
teach you as He will even if it means hardships and exposure. This is what we
call a dangerous prayer, and it is yours if you choose. I can only pray for
you, you have to allow God room to move. So, “amen” or “no amen” that is up to
you. But I pray that you choose in. Make sure you all pass this around to make
sure it gets to the whole group. Read it at youth group if you must. But God
laid it on my heart to share with you, so just do it! HAHA
I can’t tell you how excited I am to see you just weeks from
now. I love you, I miss you, and I am hugging you from here.
