Yesterday I asked someone on the team to shout out a book of
the Bible. “James”, she said.

I then asked for a chapter. “1” Sara said softly. And so I
read..

At the end of James 1, it talks about the “religion that God
accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after the orphans and widows in
their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”

This reminded me of all that we are here for. We are here to
clothe the naked, look after the homeless, and care for the orphans. The Spirit
laid this out on my heart.

Of course we are to love those who are physically widows,
orphans, and homeless; for they have so much need and we can supply their need
both physically and spiritually. What about those who are spiritual orphans,
and spiritually homeless?  Are not those
who do not know the Lord homeless; for they do not inherit the Kingdom of God? And
for those who know not the Father above are the orphans of this world. They don’t
know their own daddy. They have no father to carry them and love them. They are
the orphans.

So I say this. Let us take care of our brothers and sisters.
Let us not forget about the business men, teachers, soldiers, carpenters,
mechanics, butchers and more. Let us not forget that they too are in need of a
father. Let us not forget that they too can have a home in the kingdom of God. We
are here to do ministry in whatever way we can. Love them all, and reach out to
all. That is my challenge to you.
