It’s 5 am here in Noordhooek South Africa, and I am sitting
here thinking of something that may be worth writing with a cup of coffee in my
hand.

Let’s talk about coffee really quickly. I have my own coffee
mug, which many say is not a mug at all, but a full pot. (Correction on that
though… It is a quarter pot!) I find coffee to be delicious and calming. I
often will drink my coffee black.. I like the way that it smells, I enjoy the
warm feeling within my throat after each sip. I know many people enjoy adding cream, and maybe even some sugar if they
want to live dangerously, who knows, but I enjoy my coffee like I enjoy my
nights; BLACK!
As much as I do definitely enjoy a good cup of black Joe, I find myself with a
strange concoction this morning. I have a bit of cream, 3 scoops of NesQuick
Hot Chocolate, 2 spoonfuls of sugar, and the rest is coffee. It is sweet,
chocolatey, delicious, and for some reason doesn’t feel quite as healthy…

It’s not black! It’s not that super dark, bitter coffee that
I enjoy so much, but it has a mixture of so much.

I don’t always want the extras, but today I think I will…

It’s not better, it’s not worse, but it is different.

Same goes for this team. Each person brings something,
whether it is a chocolatey goodness that blankets the bitterness or the sweet cream
and sugar that has drastically changed not only the flavor, but the color of my
once black cup of coffee.

I don’t always want the extras, but today.. I think I will!

And perhaps, just maybe… I will start drinking my coffee with
hot chocolate in it just a tad bit more often…?
