What does it really mean to be a man of God?
This question has been raging through my head these past weeks since I was accepted onto the World Race.
I want to want God more than I want air, and I want every action I do to glorify him. I want to wake up in the morning and the moment my eyes open, satan cringes, because he knows that God’s will is going to be done today. When my feet hit the floor in the morning every thought in my head should be directly pointed towards God.
New Radical ideas of Christianity, aren’t very new or radical. The fact is, living as a Godly man just means I’m doing what I was commanded or told to do by Jesus himself. That means that as a man of God I should heal the sick, make new disciples, and give God the glory, follow Him daily. In Matthew 10: 8, Jesus said, “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.”
In John 14: 12, Jesus says, “I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.”
Jesus has given me the authority to do all things in his name so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. Making bold prayers, and doing things outside the comfort zone, is where authority is used.
To be a man of God, a true disciple, leave everything behind, do as Jesus did and follow his commands, give The Father the glory, and above all love the Lord God with all your heart, mind and soul. Want him more than you want air.
