What just
happened…

I think that’s
pretty much the only phrase to describe the last week and a half since we have
been in Bucharest. Changes have
been made, teammates have moved on, and our entire squad has been flipped
upside down. I have been asked several
times to describe a typical day on the World Race. I said this in month one, and I will say it again; whenever
we have one of those, I’ll tell you.

So we showed up
in Bucharest on the first to a children’s home that one of our teams had
already been at for a month. We
started off the week with an overnight kids camp that we were totally in charge
of. As tough as it may have been
to go through all the changes on top of pulling your weight for the camp, it
was still so sweet to step back and recognize that this was the first time many
of these children had ever even left their village. There was pure joy on their face at the sight of a
merry-go-round or a slide, and it really was a blessing to get to spend that
time with them.

Since then, we
have been doing random ministry opportunities, but mostly focusing on our squad
and where we’re headed. Yesterday,
the all-new leadership team set off with the intentions of finding and seeking
direction for our squad. Then, we
took today as a vision casting day and took the opportunity to point the
direction we’re headed. We are
still looking to debrief a big activity later on, so I’ll have to write another
blog soon to tell you a little about that.

The big news that
I want to tell you now, is that I officially have a brand new team. It was one of the hardest decisions to
leave NEON, but it couldn’t have been a more obvious choice. I am now working with six brand new
people to form the team .in.tent.city. The reason for the name is simple. We have a light that we want to shine
with such intensity that there is no denying the source. In order for this to happen, we must
continue to strive to pour into our personal relationship with God (in our
“tent” of meeting) but also continue to live within our community or our
city. See how that works
together? Pure genius.

The members of my
team are Tara Reed, Heather Duke, Ashley Haub, Hailee Gibson, Damaris
Contreras, and Warren Cheely. I
have a link to all their blogs on the left in my link section, so feel free to
check them out and send them the same encouragement that comes my way. I couldn’t be more excited for this
team and just love the random group God brought together.

So we’re headed a
new direction with individual teams as well as a squad. I’m excited to see where we’re headed
because God has a plan for us and it’s time we recognized that. Continue to send your prayers and
encouragement our way still because your words are powerful and they bring such
great rest.
