Pretty regularly I’m reminded of why I love doing what I’m
doing for so many different reasons.
One of the reasons is just meeting all of these missions minded people
and families as they come through to volunteer with our ministry. This weekend, one of the families that
have volunteered long term with our organization in Manila has come to visit
our site. Carmine and his wife
Angie, along with their three kids, Luka, Marco, and Avi, have committed to
living in the Philippines and working with KIM for the next year. Carmine is an architect and has come
here to work on a few of the projects that KIM will be launching over the next
year.
Right now, I’m sitting at the breakfast table with the
family and they are a joy to be around.
They have moved out here from their home in Salt Lake City and are
working on making the full transition to life overseas and all the changes that
come with it. Their home church,
K2 in Salt Lake, has done so much to help our ministry and have sent tons of
goods to support our homes and ministries. The most recent blessing the church has sent us is Carmine
and his family. We’re excited to
see the way that God will use this family as they’ve given up this next year to
fully serve Him.
The family is fully integrating into the Filipino society as
the boys are starting school and the parents are getting the home arranged and
figuring out how to operate in the big city of Manila. We’re praying for this family as the
transition continues and the next year opens up opportunities for their
ministry. I’m thankful these guys
were able to come visit our home for the weekend and look at a few of the
projects we’re working on as well.
