It’s been a long day, full of driving, but better late than never.  Around hour 8 of my trip, I was getting a little antsy and honestly just wanted to skip today’s post since it would be after midnight anyway.  However, some days you don’t get to make that choice.  Today’s conversation was one of those…

After staring at each other in line for a few minutes and making faces, 7 year old Jevon had to start up a conversation.
Jevon :: What’s your name?
Me :: William, and who are you?
Jevon :: I’m Jevon and this is my brother and my mom, we’re driving to Georgia.   Where are you going? To visit family?
Me :: Oh, that’s a long way from here, I just came from Alabama and yeah, I’m on my way to see my brother in Dallas.
Jevon :: That’s cool, where else are you going?
Me :: I’ll see some friends in other states and then I leave to go out of the country.
Jevon :: Why would you do that?
Me :: Because in the Philippines there are a bunch of little children without homes and I’m going to go help them.
Jevon :: That’s sad, are they my age?
Me :: Some are.
Jevon :: How will you help them?
Me :: Well I’m helping them go to school and telling them about Jesus.  Many of them don’t have families and feel like everyone has abandoned them.  But I follow a God   that loves them, and that’s why He’s sending me there.
Jevon :: I know Jesus.
Me :: What do you know about Jesus?
Jevon :: He died so I wouldn’t have to because of all the bad stuff I do.
Me :: That’s good stuff.  What do you think about Him?
Jevon :: He’s pretty cool I guess.  I like to tell people about Him.  Hey, what do you want to do when you grow up?
Me :: I guess what I’m doing now.
Jevon :: You can get paid to help those kids?
Me :: Not always, but sometimes.  What do you want to do when you grow up?
Jevon :: I want to help people.
Me :: How will you do that?
Jevon :: By giving them some of my stuff and telling them about Jesus.
Well Jevon, I think you’re on your way to do that.  Sometimes the faith of a child a such a sweet reminder in the midst of moving from one place to the other…
