Well, I did hope for real African weather, b/c without the
heat, it wouldn’t be Africa. It’d be like climbing Mt. Everest w/o the snow.
Although, we’ve been told, that the weather’s been much
cooler than it should be for this time of the year. On our 2nd night
here, there was actually rain, and it’s almost like a natural disaster to have
rain at this time, b/c it brings up the heat from the ground, killing the
tomato plants! We also experienced cool breezes to go along w/ unseasonable
coolness. The weather’s never been like this, they said. So if you’ve been
praying for better weather for us, thank you!
It could be the cooler temperatures, but all of us are
getting comfortable with constantly being covered in sweat. The first few
nights, sleeping was horrible when you’re sweating. Now, it doesn’t bother me
so much. One trick is if you’re lying on your back, wait until you build up
some sweat, then lie on your stomach, exposing your damp back. The fan cools
the sweat on your back while your stomach starts to sweat. You simply repeat
the process until you fall asleep. It sounds gross, but proven effective. 3 out
of 5 REV217 World Racers recommend it.
-In Ghana, there are goats, cows, sheep, and guinea fowls
everywhere.
-In Africa/Ghana, the same people will come up to receive
Christ every time they’re asked if they want to be saved.
-In Ghana, when you wait for a bus/van, it can be 30 mins,
or 3 hours, or all day. And that bus will have live chicken, goat,
loosely-sealed sacks of charcoal and anything else one wishes to travel with.
