Dug trenches on Wednesday. It was for electrical wires and water pipes. Levi from
Sharing His Plan had some property he was working on building cheap and affordable housing. He’s building a training centre, a model house, and a few others.
Including yesterday, we had 10 of us work a total of 10 hours or so to finish. Had our WR teams not shown up, he would have had to do it all by himself. It was through our main contact, Carol and Forrest, from
Servants 4 Him ministries that we got connected with Levi. All of our contacts have been tremendous. From feeding us, to giving up lots of tips, to taking care of our sick racers, it has truly been a blessing. (more pix to come. it’s hard to work and take pictures, but i’ll try to steal some from my teammates)
Thursday, we worked on the bio-sand filters. It’s quiite a simple yet ingeneous thing. You replicate how the earth naturally filters dirty water in a concrete box about 1x1x3. It was developed by a company out of Calgary, so props! 🙂 We built and poured concrete into 4 forms.
The great thing is that you provide the ppl with clean drinking water, and get to tell them also about the living water that Jesus provides. It’s a great way to improve the lives of families and share the Gospel.
I really admired that Carol and Forrest do not just sell these water filters, b/c that would eliminate opportunities to outreach. They often build it with them, teach them about health and hygeine, and do lots of follow up.

The weather’s been pretty good. Around 20C for the most part, except hot temps during midday. We’ve been accessing internet at Luna de Miel, a French crepes shop. The owners are French, so I get to bust out my Francaise every now and then. 😛
We’ve had 3 squad members experience vomitting and diarrhea, aka, “the teapot.” I’ve been good, except minor cold symptoms like runny nose. Please contine to pray for our health, and our finances (including mine :P).
