Go to the end of yourself. Lay yourself down in worship. Bring it all to the altar. Don’t try to hide any of it. Just empty yourself and pour it all out before God. That is what He wants. He wants all of it. He could just take it, but He won’t. He wants you to bring it freely. What are you waiting for? Take it to Him. He wants the good, bad, ugly, imperfect and beautiful parts of you.

Lay it down before Him and sit there. Sit in His presence, fully exposed, raw and naked. There are things that as you lay them down before Him, will hurt. It will hurt to see these things as you give them to Him. You will see things you didn’t know were there, because in keeping things hidden, we are not hiding them from God, but from ourselves. That is why we must see them as we lay them down on the altar, for how can we give a sacrifice if we do not know what we are sacrificing? If you allow yourself to be exposed under God’s Holy light, He will show you all things. Then you can begin the process of scraping off the undesirable. I say scraping, because that is literally what it is. It is a surgical removal of the things not of God so that you may be filled more and more with the things of God.

There is something so intimate in the moment where you lay before God and give it all up. In that moment, He will not reject you. He will never reject you. Instead He will gather you up and hold you so close. You will be a child in your Daddy’s lap. You will experience a new meaning of ‘born again’. You have a Daddy who is a redeemer. You have a Daddy with arms wide open. Run into them and let Him redeem the things you are giving up. Let Him do His work in the scars, in the hidden places of your heart.
