and this time I will be going to Turkey!

When I was in Istanbul for a few short hours on the way from Kenya this May, I felt a pull to go back to Turkey and minister one day. I am so excited to share that Jesus is so good and has provided a way for that to happen!

If you follow my blog, you know that I am currently in Redding, California at the ministry school of Bethel Church. I am taking bible and ministry activation classes as well as an evangelism track where I am being stretched and growing in ways to share the gospel with those around me. God is good, and He has also blessed me with a great job that works with my school schedule. I am learning and growing so much here, and becoming empowered to live missionally not just overseas, but in America, which was my heart cry coming here.

Last week, my small group and I went to the mall during group time and while there we met a boy named Dakota who was just hanging out with friends. We felt the Lord highlighted him to us, so we shared the love of the Father for him, and were able to pray for his mother who has a heart condition. He was so touched by the love of God that he told all his friends and he is joining us at church this Sunday! Also, on Thursday, during my volunteer activation at a local elementary school, we saw 8 children give their lives to Jesus and one with foot pain healed! God is doing so much here, and I am so glad he chose me to be a part of it.

Along with my classes I am taking during the week, we are chosen to go on a missions trip with a team from the church in March. I have been selected for the Turkey team. We will be serving in Izmir, Turkey, working with a missionary family that has a church called Lighthouse. Izmir is a city of four million people, most who are Muslim. However, the gospel is growing in Turkey and there are now a small percentage of believers, where 20 years ago there were none. We will also be involved in street ministry and working with refugees from Syria. Our team leader, Joellah grew up in Izmir, so she will be taking us to minister to her hometown.

If you feel led to sow into my missions work, you can donate online at https://missiontrips.ibethel.org/transactions/new/2968 and it will take you directly to my personal donations. If that link doesn't work for you, you can go to https://missiontrips.ibethel.org.You will see a column labeled 'Give Today' and under that, a search box. Put Whitney Huntley in the search box and it will take you to a page where you can donate to me!

My first deadline of $220 is coming up this Tuesday, November 19. I will need a total of $2200 for the 14 day trip, and that covers all expenses.

If you cannot give online, you can mail a check to:

Please put Turkey Trip – Whitney Huntley in the memo for it to be applied to my trip!

Also, Charlotte friends and family, I will be in Charlotte December 19 until January 2, so if you are in the area and would like to meet up and discuss my past and upcoming trip, please let me know! I will be setting up coffee dates and would love to include you (I know some of you are already on my calendar! Love you all)!
