He asks me to meet Him over a cup of mocha, or sometimes it is a latte. He lets me ask Him questions, and find out His character. We delve deeper into each other, and He shows me the different sides of Himself. He is becoming my constant companion, my encourager. Sometimes He shows me where I was mistaken or where I did something wrong, and He gently leads me back to that place, that communion with Him. He tells me I am worthy of His love, because He freely gives it to me.

He plans our future, and tells me it is prosperous. I smile at the thought of spending my life with Him, the Lover of my Soul. He continually wishes me good, not evil, every day of my life. He sends angels to protect me, while He goes ahead and prepares the way for me. He loves me, because He loves me. That is just who He is.

He takes me to secret places, where only the two of us can go, and he whispers of His Love. Sometimes He shows me a glorious night sky, or a beautiful sunrise. He takes me to a place where I have beautiful views of mountaintops, and clear skies. He says quietly, I made this. Many times He just takes me out for coffee, and He shows me truth and displays His character as we read over a cup of warm café. I long for our dates, and I look forward to each and every one. Slowly, I fall more and more in love.

He looks at me with pride. He sees me as I am right now, and who I am becoming, and He loves me anyway. He shows me more and more His gentle and loving nature and the more time I spend in His presence the more I long for that nature to be displayed in me. He tells me not to rush, that He sees me as perfect and lovely in His sight. I am His and He is mine. He chose me, and one day He is coming, the perfect bridegroom and I shall be ready and waiting. Until that day, we shall continue a divine romance, filled with coffee dates and mountaintops, with lush valleys and at times, rocky unpaved roads.

The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete. – John 3:29
