“And my God will supply EVERY need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” {Philippians 4:19}

Two o’clock in the morning, work in a few hours, and I was still up.

I have my moments, but I’m not a worrisome or anxious person. Neither am I one to distrust God’s provisions. But here I was, unable to sleep for the second night in a row. Thoughts of bills and missions costs and work schedules and World Race gear and school Financial Aid and unanswered emails and business junk… tirelessly floating through my mind.

I was genuinely ashamed of my worry. God has brought me through SO much.. how can I worry about anything? Has He not provided in situations past?!?

But.. there’s always just SO much, Lord… when am I going to get a BREAK!?

“How am I going to..?” and “Where in the world am I going to get..?” and “Who is going to pay for..?”

2:36 am. Suddenly, my spidey-senses started tingling, and the Holy Spirit Himself whispered Philippians 4:19 into my ear.

“And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”

Comfort, relief, excitement, peace, joy- so much coursed through my body at once!

My God is the creator and superior provider?? Hm. My God is THE CREATOR and therefore, the SUPERIOR provider!!!

I wish I could say that I’ll never be worried again. I’ll be a rock. A fortress; unmoved by the fickle worries of this world.

But the truth is, worry is part of flawed human nature. And I’m no perfect human. None of us are.

We’re going to worry. We’re going to be anxious sometimes. We’re going to “get our panties in a bunch.”

Thankfully, we serve a God that doesn’t tire of reminding us that He is the ULTIMATE provider!

He cares to provide ALL of our needs- even the “little things.”

Does that ROCK or does that ROCK???
