One quick revelation I want to share with you as I tried something on the Camino today!

I also want to mention that it is day 5 of the Camino and for the most part, we’ve had so much great conversation with new friends we met who asked us about our faith in Jesus and why we did what we did on the World Race. It was one good conversation after.

Nearing the end of our 27km walk today,  I had some time to walk on my own. At one point, I wondered what it would feel like if I closed my eyes and walked blind. I quickly started to vere off. And then some revelation came to me.

If we don’t set our eyes in front of us, we can easily walk off the path. If I set my eyes on Jesus, I know what direction I am walking. It’s so easy to forget to set our hearts and minds on Him.

Then I had another thought. When you’ve walked on the straight and narrow path for a while, when you close your eyes, your bound to be able to walk further before you swerve. Just as we hit dark season in our lives, If we have been walking straight before, we will have a better chance of staying straight even in the darkness (building faith and character for the hard times).

And then another thought came. Even when we walk with our eyes closed, one thing that stopped me from veering off the path into the ditch or trees was the ‘guardrails’ of the grass. Once I felt it, I knew I was swerving off. I think it’s important to have guardrails in life to keep us in check. Community amongst other brothers and sisters, accountability groups, or small things you would avoid doing in order for yourself not to get in trouble (setting limits on how many beers you have).

It’s fun to receive revelation as we walk the quiet roads.

Looking forward for more from God!
